# Create or upload a recording
🖥️ Currently only available via our online web platform. This feature will soon also be available in the mobile app.
You can make a recording in MeetingTrack using the built-in recorder, or upload a recording that you made on your phone, for example.
## Create a new recording
1. Open a meeting in the platform
2. Click **Start recording** at the top, or choose New recording in the Recordings tab
3. Choose **Next step**
4. In the browser prompt, choose **"Allow while visiting this site"** (or equivalent, depending on the browser)
5. Select the correct microphone from the list
6. Choose **Start meeting**
**Mute microphone:** During the recording, you can mute the microphone via the microphone icon.
**Stop recording:** Click the **red stop icon** to end the recording.
## Upload an existing recording
Do you already have an audio file of your meeting?
1. In the **Recordings** tab, click **Upload recording**.
2. Select the file from your computer or mobile device.
3. The recording appears in your overview and can be processed just like a live recording.
## Finished recording?
You can now create a transcription of your audio file and automatically generate minutes!
