# Create a standalone task You can create a standalone task at any time in MeetingTrack without interrupting your workflow. This can be done from any page in the app. 1. Click **Task**. 2. Enter the **description** of the task. 3. Adjust the **properties** of the task, such as deadline and priority. 4. Optionally add a **reference**. This makes it easy to find all tasks within the same category later. (See also the demo about references.) 5. By default, a task is **private** and only visible to the responsible person. Set the task to **public** if you want everyone in the workspace to see it. 6. Add an **attachment** if desired, for example a photo or document. 7. Click **Create task** to save the task.
