# What is a template
A template in MeetingTrack is a reusable meeting structure.
Templates are ideal for recurring meeting types such as team updates, management meetings, or project check-ins.
## What a template can include
A template can contain:
- A fixed agenda/minutes structure (main level, topic level, decision/task level)
- Default meeting time (from/to)
- Settings like private/public
- Optional Microsoft settings (Outlook invitation and Teams link)
- Attachments you want to reuse
## Why use templates
- You save time when creating meetings
- You keep a consistent structure across teams
- You reduce the chance of missing recurring agenda items
- You can start minute-taking immediately
## When not to use a template
A template is less useful when:
- Every meeting has a completely different structure
- You only have a one-time discussion
- Your agenda format is still unclear or changing frequently
In those cases, create a regular meeting and build the agenda manually.
