# How to use a template
You can apply a template in MeetingTrack in two ways.
## Option 1: From the template itself
1. Go to **Templates**.
2. Open the template you want to use.
3. Click **Use template**.
MeetingTrack immediately creates a new meeting based on that template.
## Option 2: While creating a meeting
1. Go to **Create a meeting**.
2. Click **Use template**.
3. Select a template from the list.
4. Confirm your selection.
The meeting is then prefilled with the template structure so you do not have to start from scratch.
## What gets copied
When a template is applied, it carries over:
- The agenda/minutes structure
- Default duration/time settings
- The relevant structure and content of template items
After that, you can still tailor the meeting to the specific context.
## Recommended workflow
- Keep one base template per recurring meeting type.
- Duplicate templates for team- or client-specific variants.
- Always validate agenda details before the meeting starts.
